It is a game where you attach words to the end of other words to make a long connecting sentence thread. The last game is “Word Spud” and it is the least favorite of the bunch. Even those afraid of being outsmarted will enjoy a game where each question is a 50/50 opportunity to get it right.
It’s by far the easiest game to play with a large group. My fourth favorite game in “Jackbox” is “Lie Swatter.” In this fast-paced game, your job is to pick whether a certain fact given by the narrator is true or false. If you did not draw the picture, you try to fool your friends into guessing the wrong description, like in “Fibbage.” Guessing, drawing and bluffing are the keys to winning. In this clever blend of “Pictionary” and “Draw Something,” you have to draw a scene or description and others have to guess what that might be. “Drawful” is the best surprise in this collection. This game alone is well worth the cost of the “Jackbox Party Pack” price and is such a treat for any gamer or who loves that series. My next favorite game in the “Jackbox” is the 2015 version of “You Don’t Know Jack.” Narrator Cookie Masterson is back for an incredibly funny, tongue-in-cheek trivia show which includes all of my favorite categories from the previous game. Winning is not as much about being smart as it is being clever. Once everybody enters their lie, you vote on whichever one you think is the right answer. In this game, an obscure question is given to you and you have to lie about what you think the correct answer is.

Once your party gets tired of “Cards Against Humanity,” you should give this a try. Hands-down, you should buy this for your New Year’s Eve party.

To my delight, the creators of that game expanded their cellphone and console hybrid games into a five-pack of party games called “Jackbox” for the PC, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. Only a few months ago, I was declaring “Fibbage” as my party game of the year.
